Sajeeb let me start with my repects towards you. You are well educated, and doesnt matter who you are, to me the whole educational matters quite a bit. I mean here we have one end you, and ther other hand I have Khaleeda's son, my choice would be obvious for whom I would vote for.

I was very happy when you went to Bangladesh. I never lived in Bangladesh, so whatever you said for the forthcoming future of Bangladesh, I was excited about everything. I mean at last we would have some sort of a leader who will free us from the regular BS politics happening in Bangladesh. Why ever did you leave the country? I saw so much potential.

Sajeeb my sympathies for you as a son of a mother is plenty but I do agree to most of the negative things most people say about both AL and BNP in general though. But then as you know, being in a political family is always attached with propaganda. That shouldnt bother you at this stage of your life.

I am pretty sure the anonymous person who asked the Harvard tuition had a bad intention of asking; signs of sarcasm. But what if the query was really valid? I never lived in Bangladesh but I personally went to school with sons and daughters of many politicians both AL and BNP in North America. The expenditure was way off the limits where sometimes I did ask myself the same question "where are they getting all this money from?". You are of a different generation but before the current government took over, did you know how the life of a politician's child studying abroad in North America was? How closely have you seen them? So from where I see it, I am sorry but the question that was left by that anonymous person was valid to a point though it contradicted with what you are.

Please also note that some people dont do enough research before they put a comment up. I live in North America so I very well know who is making what amount of money to go to a school like Harvard. You are well educated, so is your spouse. So, as far as I look at your situation it doesnt take enough to convince me that with a little loan you should be able to manage the tuitions.

I do feel sorry for you for your fate bringing you on the other side of the fence. But from the side of the fence we general population stand, the tautology is, "Most politicians are corrupted in Bangladesh" and the only negation of this would be until proven. Kind of makes it "guilty until proven innocent". Tough statement? yes. But required? Yes once again. This is something you wont deny yourself either. There was a filtering required.

As far as the current government goes. I half way with them in both ends. One side, they are doing a good job, I mean afterall they did take the initiative of clearing things out and bringing a lot of things under question and investigation. On the other hand where are all the trials? every humanbeing deserves a trial. Thats human right! I am fully on with you with that one.

Anyways enough said. I hope and wish you good luck on every future endeavor of yours. Educational, Political or otherwise.

I am writing to you after a very long time. I went to Bangladesh to observe the situation there and i must say it is in a dire strait . a kg of rice now costs 50$. while travel to my village i saw Muzahid's car being accompanied by reinforcements which were also guarding a car carrying one of the ADVISORS and what not --they also entered the same VIP room inside the ferry.

If you have heard by now Islamic extremists belonging to Jamaate-islaami Pakistan, MLA Pakistan and Musharraf's kinsmen assassinated Benazir Bhutto yesterday. Sajeeb mama ---these same NAJAYAZ RAJAKAR JAMAAATI progenies under the directives of Tareque Zia,Rezzaqul Haider Chowdhury and Muzahid carried out the Auf 21 carnage.

We are sympathetic to SIDR victims . However you should imeediately talk to Indian/US Officials and put a PERMA BAN on FAKU's GOVT . Otherwise we might have a Benzir scenario in Bangaldesh too.

There is simply no time to waste. I have seen the situation in Bangladesh. Almost eveyone in Bangaldesh is aware of FAKU and JAMAAT's plans. While in the ferry i met a bus driver who almost attacked KUKUR MUZAHID . The whole bangladesh is united against these islamic extremists who are funded by some western countries to distort Islam . People are being intimidated by the army and despite unhappiness they are remaining quiet. BUT The question is for how long would these people be bogged down . Everyone in Bangladesh except some Rajakars and their ZAROZ OFFSPRINGS are frustrated and enraged by FAKU and MOEEN's actions.

Donating to SIDR victims would actually be like gifting FAKU and his family members with money . There is no time to show sympathy /remain calm. In order to avoid the Benzair scenario and the rise of Islamic extremists you must talk to US/INDIAN officials and eveoke them to PERMA BAN faku and moeen's clans

You are an “okay” writer I thought – okay enough to be able to use tools such as sarcasm and techniques like hiding the “meaning” “in between the lines” and things like that. That is why when you resisted “anonymous’s” instigative ostensive use of a question, you sounded funny, very very funny. With the same stroke, you also somewhat made it clear that all that talk about Dhanmondi and Gulshan flats/houses were actually meant to question Sajeeb’s statements and NOT in the line of your “what is yours is mine” and “we are a family” type mushy stuff!!!

I believe there wont be much hue and cry over it. Too many higher-ups are going to be implicated for obvious reasons. Instead, my prediction would be that they will dilly-dally over it like they will and have been over the major cases… this will practically serve their purposes. The false and fabricated charge recently filed angainst Sheikh Rehana is the latest example of this military-led regime's conspiry to destroy the reputation of Bangabandhu family. Behind the facade of a neutral and non-partisan Care Taker Government, the council of eleven puppets is trampling our civil and human rights every single day. They have turned the entire country into a Gulag land where any voice of dissent is silenced immediately with brute force and terror. Asif Chowdhury is probably being naive or mis-informed to think that Sheikh Rehana will get justice. She will not get justice in those kangaroo courts. Nor will her sister Sheikh Hasina. Today there is no due process in BD. The CTG & the General are able to fool the people in Bangladesh through their dog & pony show but not me. I do not see any reason for them to arrest Hasina. She is a VVIP (Besides, it sends a very negative message to the world about our own country). It is impossible for her to run away. Anyone with a bit of sense would know that. So why arrest/detain her unless you charge her with an actual crime and take her to trial? And yes, make it a public trial. Let the world watch it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the law that people are innocent until proven guilty? Our High Court has repeatedly ruled that my mother's detention is illegal. I have no problem with trials because my family has nothing to fear.

But that's the point; there are no trials and yet there is an arrest order for my aunt? My mother remains behind bars? This is illegal and immoral. So to answer your question, we are already not receiving a fair trial.

Farhana Islam, wife of Dr Mahbubul Islam, filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court for Dhaka.

Among the accused, Abu Rushd Tarek, younger brother of the caretaker adviser, said the case was designed to defame them.

Farhana attached with the case documents a medical certificate as a "proof of physical harassment".

The others named in the case are Shamsun Nahar Tarek, Mukim Choudhury, Shakhawat Hossain Shahadat, Adit Bhagat, Ripon, Bipul and Yaar Ali.

According to case details, Nazim Kamran had illegally stayed in Farhana's building in Gulshan-2, which houses his businesses, even after the house rental agreement had expired.

Farhana also alleged that Nazim Kamran and his men beat her with iron rods and tugged at her sari when they made a bid to "usurp the property" on Oct 22.

Tarek told bdnews24.com Wednesday: "We served a legal notice on them (Farhana and her husband) on Oct 31 and the case might come as a backlash."

Tarek claimed that Farhana and her husband made "false and baseless" statements against them from a press conference on Oct 25.

"They told reporters that we had harassed and manhandled Dr Islam and his wife. Our legal notice was served after those false allegations," he added.

My father knew your Aunt's husband's family. I remember my father was very happy when Rehana was married. I think her husband had a Ph.D. in economics or was working toward it. Later he worked in Brunei. So far as I can remeber, he was gravely ill for a while about ten or fifteen years ago. How is he doing now?

I assume he (your uncle, Rehans's husband) is living in London with your aunt. I thought your uncle's family (father?) had a house in Gulshan, at least that is what I thought around 1978/79 (?).

Please do not consider this as invasion of privacy of your family. We want to know because we feel Sheikh Shahib's family is our own family.

There was also a court case few years ago which related to your aunt's property in Dhanmondi. I think BNP government improperly seized the property. What happened to that case?
