First of all, I would like to thank all that have shown support for my mother through this ordeal. What the Caretaker Government is doing is outrageous and completely unacceptable. I apologize that I have not been able to post earlier and this is going to be a brief post as well. I have been extremely busy with this crisis and am pressed for time.
The CG is determined to keep my mother out of the country. From a human rights standpoint, this is a clear violation. She is a citizen of Bangladesh and has every right to return to her country. And let us not forget, she is the daughter of the Father of the Nation. Above all else, she has every right to return to Bangladesh.
Under any judicial process she has a right to challenge any and all accusations against her. If the CG has a legitimate reason to not want her in the country then why don’t they allow her face the charges against her in court? They have even placed a ban on the media on broadcasting any of her statements. Why are they so afraid of her and what she might say?
The truth is that with the successful movement to stop the rigged election of January, Sheikh Hasina is the most powerful political figure in Bangladesh right now. She is the only one that commands the respect of the greatest majority of our people. With her leadership, Awami League can mount a successful challenge against any authoritarian regime. And that is exactly what this CG wants to eliminate.
Their hope is that with Sheikh Hasina out of the picture there will be no one to stop them from staying in power indefinitely. There will be no one to challenge their absolute rule. Unfortunately, this also means that democracy will not return to Bangladesh again.
This is the so called “Pakistan formula.” They have taken the exact steps, almost without distinction, that were taken in Pakistan seven years ago. What has been the result in that country? Democracy there is finished and the country has become a hotbed of fundamentalist terrorism. Is this the future we want for Bangladesh?
Much has been made about the theory that the personal differences between the two women leaders of the country is the root cause of all the problems there. It wasn’t personal differences that caused the 1000 extra judicial killings of the last five years, or the assassinations of 2 Members of Parliament, or the mass arrests, or even the attempt at a blatantly rigged election.
Incidentally, extra judicial killings have continued under this so called “good government.” Why is that? I won’t even go into the mass arrests without charges and every other human rights violation in the book.
This is simply a power grab. I, along with many others had warned that this would happen if a non elected military backed interim government stayed in power too long.
Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League are now the only hope for restoring democracy to Bangladesh. If she returns to the country this regime will not be able to stay indefinitely. For this to happen we need your support.
I would like to urge all Bangladeshi’s to raise your voice for what is happening. Raise your voice for democracy. Raise your voice for the future of Bangladesh. Raise your voice for the daughter of the Father of the Nation.

I am happy that the caretaker govt. is trying to bar Sheikh Hasina's return to Bangladesh! The mask this government was wearing has been removed finally, and the world can now see its real face!!!
The people of Bangladesh are different from the Pakistan, the buddhu bonduk-walas did not understand that! Most of the Pakis are not politically conscious, most of the time they were under urdi-walas and they seem to always suffered from Stockholm-syndrom. They trust the men in uniform more than they trust their corrupt politicians. Most of the Pakis hold their politicians responsible for the loss of half of their 'waten' (country) in 1971. (A popular slogan against PPP was 'Qursi-ke liye waten bhag karne-wale'.
The picture in different in Bangladesh. Even our peasants, rickshaw-pullers, labourers are policially conscious and they are aware about their political rights. They are more intelligent than the bonduk-walas. Don't you think they are observing each and every move of this govt?
Joy, the bonduk-walas do not know that they are playing with fire. Just wait and see. The move to restrict Sheikh Hasina's return to Bangladesh will just be the beginning of the fall of this govt. And their fall would be more tragic than the fall of BNP!
SR
Sajeeb,
You are asking us to raise our voice. Provide us with some ways. Should we send a letter to State Dept? If so, to what address? Give us some guidelines.

I think it is clear violation of Human Rights. Hundreds and thousands of supporters are eagerly waiting for Sheikh Hasina. Things are moving very fast. I think AL may talk with CTG and give 24 hours time to withdraw the Press Note against Sheikh Hasina. I think some of so called AL central leader is creating confusion by keep them silent. I am sure none of grassroots supporter leaves Sheikh Hasina.
I spoke to my friends and family members in Bangladesh. Everybody is thinking that this government is losing its popularity rapidly. This government became very popular when they took over because they promised to bring in the changes the people had been demanding for so long- reformation of the election commission, preperation of a flawless voter-list, removal of yes-uddin from the post of Chief Adviser, fall of the most hated hawa bhaban etc! People welcomed the present caretaker government because they thought they would be able to do the long awaited reformation.
Now believe me, the people feel cheated. Press feels cheated. Professionals feel cheated. Laborers feel cheated.
We will not let Bangladesh become Pakistan. We fought for our country in 1971. Since independence we fought for out democratic rights against all kinds of undemocratic dictatorial regimes. And now these fools think that they can get away with anything they want? they believe that they would be able to gag out voice? They think that they would be able to deprive 140 million people of their basic rights?!
If they actually believe this (which is possible, because, after all, eder buddhi naki hatute thake) then they are living in fool's paradise!
Fools, the more you try to repress us the stronger we grow!!Want to see?
I have already invited all of my frnds in London to join the tomorrow's program at the Stowe Centre, 258 Harrow Road, London W2 5ES.
Anyone can find the map in the link:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=W2%205ES.
Nearest Transport Links:
Tube Station: Royal Oak, 0.2 miles (0.3 km)
Railway Station: Paddington
Railway Station, 0.6 miles (1 km)

I think we will raise our voice as much as we can from London.
Everybody should try as he can to raise his voice.
Wherever you are outside Bangladesh, please send letters to the following agencies/organisations:
1. To the local MPs/ Congressmen
2. To the Speaker of the Parliament
3. To the parliamenary committee on human rights
4. To the Foreign Minister/ Deputy Foreign Minister/ Secretary of State/ Under Secretary of State
5. To the South Asian Desk of the Foreign Ministry
6. To the Human Rights organisations in the country where you live (for example, the local branch of Amnesty International)
6. To the Bangladesh Embassies and Consulates
Tell your friends about the incidents of violation of human rights in the country, and ask them to write as well.
(However, I would ask those who are in Bangladesh to please take extreme caution while sending blogs and emails.)
Sajeeb, I know this must be difficult for you personally. For the rest of us, it is also difficult because the barring of Sheikh Hasina is a slap in the face of every Bangladeshi and every advocate of democracy.
I have attempted to raise awareness about the slide to military rule in Bangladesh on my blog as well as on some large American group blogs that I post on. The response has been overwhelming support for democracy in Bangladesh. Here's a post I wrote for the Daily Kos.
I am also beginning to arrange a letter writing campaign to American congressmen and senators. Those of us who care about Bangladesh have an obligation to speak up and raise awareness of this crisis. I'll do my part - and I urge everyone else to do theirs.
This is not 75 and 81. People now have access to private tv channels, foreign media, internet, mobile phone etc. Literacy rates have also increased. Women's participation in different economic activities are much higher than that in the past. People have excercised their voting rights during the last 3 general elections under caretaker governments, so they are conscious about their rights. This time things will not be so easy..
I agree that any citizen of Bangladesh has the right to live in Bangladesh and if charged for anything, should allowed to face and that is part of democracy. SH should be allowed to do that.
But regarding the politics, both AL and BNP should be barred from politics unless there are new leadership who has clean background and very much educated. Without proper leadership, a political party can't succeed. How a citizen will believe your writings that AL is the only party who can bring the democracy and peace to the country while we all know how the country suffered while AL was in power. Also, currently the arrested MP's, leaders are not only from BNP but also from AL. So, both parties shown their corruption and shown that they want power only for money. There is no way that you can make a concious citizen of Bangladesh to believe that AL is the solution anymore.
pls do something for sheikh hasina
do someting for hasina
We have seen military autocracy during Ershad regime and read more from history about General ancestors (Zia, Yahia, Ayub). Bangladesh is not like Pakistan and its already proven in 1971, 1990. Bangladesh people are now more concern about their rights and electronic communication is much change than it was 1982-90. Politician may defective and corrupt but this is not only in Bangladesh even in developed country too. But military autocracy is worse than corrupted politician and we could not let bad to be replaced by worse. As a citizen of our loving motherland Bangladesh we could not let them doing the same wrong experiment which already failed in Bangladesh before and other part of globe.
Good news is that devils face of current CTG and their backer already exposed within 3 months and people, media now realize the true intention of CTG. You may notice that media support already declined to zero to this CTG. We will expose their naked ugly face to rest of the world.
My submission to the others readers, please to come up and share with some specific ideas, write up how to campaign against this CTG dictator regime.
Sajeeb bhai, whatever she does, she must not go back to USA. If it doesnt work to land in Dhaka, she should try to go to Kolkata or stay in London. A number of unconfirmed sources saying that USA is supporting CTG on this banning stuff.
First, they tried to scare Hasina with an extortion case, which, as it seems now, was clearly staged by the caretaker government and the military. As Hasina decided to face the case, military rulers came to their senses and devised the wonderful strategy of hypocrisy. Even more interesting is the fact that Hasina is being charged with sedition because of what she has been saying to the international media. She is also charged with the fact that she caused all the chaos and mayhem that necessitated the state of emegency. This is utter stupidity. I was hoping Dr. Yunus and Nagorik Shakti would bring about a true grass root movement and provide the people an alternative voice, but it appears that the military is going to force Yunus down people's throat... it will miserably fail.
The restriction on the media is another vital mis-step taken by the CG. By the way, has the Daily Star online been shut off by the government? It's been unavailable for 2 days.
All,

Sajeeb, you are absolutely right. The CG cannot impose bar against your mother or any other citizen of Bangladesh. Free movement of a citizen is constitutionally guaranteed. It is our basic universal human right. Bangladesh, in fact, is now ruled by a group of dictators. No other ruler rather than a military dictator can take such undemocratic action. Bangladesh is now very much under the grip of military generals, exactly what we have witnessed in Pakistan. The truth is gradually coming into surface that Bangladesh army is ruling or dictating the CG from behind. In support of my comments just read an analysis printed in the latest issue of The Economist (http://www.economist.com/world/asia/displaystory.cfm?story_id=9052421). However, this is not first time when a section of armed forces becoming aspirant for state power. We could easily remember, General Zia and General Ershad both came to power using such dirty tricks (cleansing corruption, making politics difficult). This CG is eventually becoming an autocratic government. Indeed, this is not the proper and a fare way to rule Bangladesh. The so-called army, which has claimed to bring back Bangladesh on the right track from anarchy, political rivalries, will destroy our political institutions. They have already started power sharing within the civil governments holding key positions. However, people don’t expect this from an unelected and unaccountable caretaker government. It is not their duty to fix who will be the leader of which party.
There is a big question now: who will decide our people’s future? Certainly it cannot be decided by army or by the CG? People will decide their future, and that can be done only by people’s mandate, not by emergency or not by the army.
I want to utilize this space for two messages:
1. Army-backed government and its advisers are telling that Hasina's leadership is one of the reasons of confrontational politics. But they hanged militants. Who raised political movement against Islamic Militancy in Bangladesh? It was AL-led opposition alliance. So they have not even given any credit to the political role of Awami League and Hasina.
See, we have the generosity. Hasina appreciated the good works and decisions of this interim government. But they have not even recognized the positive political activism of Awami League.
2. Hasina will have to take a quick decision. This decision will be to stay away from the post of Party Chief or the post of Prime Minister. This offer will have to come from her. I am making this suggestion in the context that there are many currents and counter currents are going on taking the advantage of emergency situation.
Don't believe the members of Sheikh Family. They are the part of conspiracies of all AL defeats.
Finally, we still believe Pakistan style system won't take place in Bangladesh.
Couple of Editors find it so easy to write a commentary against Hasina-Khaleda. But they never write a piece on the dubious role of Bangladesh Army in promoting Islamic Fundamentalism. They can predict many things about the politics of AL, but they cannot sense the roadmap of Bangladesh Army who are moving with a mission to materialize their own style of democracy which will be a religious democracy.
Our support is with you. All you have to do is plan this properly and ask Joy Bhai. Do not let her back in the United States. That will diminish every bit of sanity filled positive PR that has happened as a result of the london stopover. If refused tomorrow and I shall be at Heathrow to see this, then the next move needs to be contemplated here in the UK. Its a media heaven for our purposes. Much more relavant is ofcourse the matter of Mrs. Wajed's reaction to this matter when denied a spot on the flight. It needs to be strong and one minded. One individual is enough to bring down a Military Dictatorship.........and no one can seriously doubt that we have one, albeit one that can't be termed a dictatorship yet! This can be fought by good means and turned around. Gandhi freed a nation and defeated an empire merely by virtue of his deeds and words, we are looking at just entering the country for now. (Before people all around start pelting me with word stones for the comparison, please understand I am not making one, just asking for people to think out of the box and win this fight through brains and not otherwise) Think Gandhi and a new world of possibilites, plans and stragies will present themselves to you. Best of luck. We will all campaign for her safe journey and safe abode back in Bangladesh. The battle for one citizen's right to return begins tomorrow. Gather up everyone. Its democracy against military rule! And we all know who is likely to win that fight!
Joy Bangla!
SI
just to let you know tht this CG is acting exactly the way it is prompted by BNP_JAMAAT.
the so called arrests are a HOAX to deflect people's attention from Elections where AL could register massive victory.
the BNP-JAMAAT resorted undercover to:-
1)create tension between AL senior leaders and Sheikh Hasina by employing some Kutta Jamaati professors who did backbiting in order to break up the party.
THX to an AL leader who resolved the issue.Still plans are underway to break up AL .
Khaleda and her family would also be brought back after a few days from SA.
Till Date no move has been taken to recover TAREQUE's EMBEZZLED MONEY. Everything that you see is a HOAX.
BD is united after the farcical cases on Hasina Apa.
The pro-pakistani forces would be defeated once again like 71. This time PAKISTAN would be erased from the world-map
If international lobby works, then we all should comes forward to help our country to any extends.
In the mean time, all the issues in Bangladesh seems that they drain all their brains these days. I guess the CTG are the puppet of nothing. They should know that BD is also their country and whatever they doing they could suffer for that to.
More than, Hasina should carefully take her steps to make his political voice effective to national and international perspectives.
clean up corruption is just bull shit...it is the same old game...emerging of another party by a sitting general after taking off his urdi by virtue of yes no vote. plain and simple. fakkruddin , moinul, matin gong are just a few kiddy kiddy of a puppet show.
well, in my opinion, hasina should try to get the boarding pass and after if she fail to get it, she should go for legal suit against british airways, bangladesh military janta. and stay in london. not in usa nor india. becareful, present bangladesh government is a b-team of golam azam.
and for the rest of us who are residing out side of bangladesh, should get involved in more internet blog...create more...get more people involve in it..and spread every corner of bangladesh the real face bangladeshi junta.
If Hasina Apa fails to return to Bangladesh today then she would ofcourse return to India and watch closely the BD issues.
I am sure once she reaches India she would find a way to reach Bangladesh.
Law and information adviser Mainul Hosein Sunday criticised demand for quick elections. "What's the benefit of holding an election if we don't get an honest government and thieves and robbers come back," he said.
Would the people of BD be controlled by MAINUL Hussain?
If mass people would select Sk Hasina or Khaleda , the what CTG cud do?
The CTG is interferring everywhere of people's life.
Mainul Hussain will suffer a lot in the long run.
its time to have some reformation in both AL and BNP. but wat govt is doing is not the right way . this govt is loosing public support . all of their achievment will destroy if they arrest shekh hasina or detain khaleda.
Dear Sajeeb,
How come you don't post any comments that supports the caretaker government's actions? You talk about democracy and people's right but your blog is highly skewed with comments which mostly support your thinking.
I hear that there is an effort to boycott British Airways, especially by British Bengalis.
bhaia,
I understand your love for the country and all, but everybody retires some time. Why don't you ask your mom to let it go and see where Bangladeshis are a year from now.
It's not SH is Jesus Christ the savior for Bangladesh. One thing I learned from life is that every one of us, no matter how big or important has a replacement.
Let it go, ask your mom to retire and be in peace with her children and grandchildren.
Ask your conscience, living in US for so long, at least you have some democratic upbringing, you know most Bangladeshis will not mind if she does not go back.
Please see if you can make her do the most dignified thing.
The dignified thing being, exile? Munna Bhai, never thought I would say this........but what does the Bangladeshi, government have to fear? The intentions are visible no matter which side of the isle you are on. I was at Heathrow today and what happened was the most shameful display of Bangladeshi autocracy? Hell, even people from BNP were there to see Mrs. Wajed's attempt to defy what is a deck of heavy cards stacked against her. The fight begins today, not to install Mrs. Wajed in power but to ensure that a citizen of Bangladesh is not deprived of her rights. Its our duty to ensure that this is mended.
munna,
everyone except those kutta jamaatis and bnp members want Sheikh Hasina to be the next prime minister.
Ofcourse we saw where the Bangalis were in the last regime where prices skyrocketted without bounds, 36000 people were killed , 90000 raped and above all Tareque became one the richest man in the whole world with an estimated 20+ billion (stolen through syndicates).
AT present 20 people gets killed in armed conflict, prices of essentials have skyrocketted to absolute maxima, kutta Rajakars (syedi, nizami, muzahid) enjoy full freedom despite stealing millions from the public's reserves.
munna,
why dont you retire? Rather than posting BS comments that patronizes that anti-liberation forces in absence of Sheikh Hasina.
as for whether Bangladeshis want her or not......you could easily seee the commotion everywhere. With false cases levied on her, the credibility and popularity of CG has dropped to ZERO.
arresting Khaleda or Tareque( which is a drama) would have no effect. Alamgir Kabir himself gave vivid description of how Khaleda stole the 8000 crore taka allocated for powerplant projects. She is as a looter as her sons.
However no one can come up with valid proofs of corruption against Hasina as she was never involved in corruption.
The CG is also a BNP-JAMAAT's puppet. The arrests of BNP men are all hoax.
Why are they not forming task forces to recover tareque and khaleda's illicit money???????????
They would never do that ...rather they would send khaleda and her family to SA where they could live lavishly on their stolen money.
Suggest her not to use "daughter of the father of the nation" all the time. You know people's psychology. I like her interview with BBC. But it is better to begin with what Awami League is doing in terms of reform and democratic practices, and at the end compare that with others.
Ensure that all international news agencies/ media have access to his comments.
Army has buddhi which is known as "Hatur Niche...". Funny thing is that what they are doing now, the world can easily read that there is no democracy in Bangladesh. If their goal is to ensure the involvement of honest and good people in Bangladesh's future democracy, then it is expected that they will act logically, coherently, and transparently.
Main issue is that they seem to be more attentive in keeping two chiefs of two major parties out of the country instead of identifying the promoters of Islamic Extremism and Militancy in Bangladesh.
I may be wrong, but I have not seen any former army officer turned politician arrested yet. Ershad was one of the top corrupt persons in Bangladesh's history. He has not been arrested yet, as he had a Army background.
People like Mayor Mohiuddin, Mayor Badruddin, Obaidul Kader, Asim Kumar Ukil are arrested so that Awami League as a party can organize people against the actions of this army-backed government.
A Hunch:
Ghorer Shotru Bivishon - Identify these elements. Couple of persons, close to Hasina through family and friendship relations, persued her to make a congratulatory comment about the activities of this Interim government before her departure to the US. They are part of this conspiracy. You know you were right, "enemy of AL is AL", and I will add, "it is within very close circle of the party chief" which is resulted in the ongoing confusion with senior party leaders. It is they who manipulated the decision of signing MoU with a fundamentalist party to help the "counter current" game wihtin party as a part of Army-led conspiracy. Some people became so influential in decision making of Awami League since October, 2006. They may also be part of this conspiracy.
Both the New Nation and Ittefaq Editors visited Hasina in October. Why? That family friend cum advisor is now speaking differently.
I hope CPJ, RSF and other Human Rights concerns will issue warning to Bangladesh why the comments of Sheikh Hasina cannot be published in newspapers if the practice of the free press is there. Gagging free press, what type of democracy they are planning to establish in Bangladesh? Why no senior journalist and editors cannot write a piece on this topic? it also proves that the state of self-censorship is prevailing right now in Bangladesh.
to jkjikml,
reformnation is needed but not in AL but in BNP.90% of AL leaders are innocent.ON the other hand 100% of all BNP leaders including Tareque babu and her mother Khaleda Zia are corrupt.
TOFFAIL/RAZZAQUE /SURANJIT/ AMU/MOHIUDDIN/KAMRAN/OBAIDUL QADER are all genuine and honest politicians. ALthough false cases were levied on all of them during DARK REGIME of four party alliance.
QADER/KAMRAN/MOHIUDDIN all were victims of political agression.
Mannan Bhuiyan himself has embezzled around 36 million dollars.
Sadeque Hossain Khoka(once a slum dweller) has over 100 million dollar worth taka. Like him all 4 bnp mayors are corrupted. Isqandar, shahjahan omar, mk anwar have left nothing untouched when it comes to terrorism, murder, looting of public's properties etc.
Dont compare AL with RAJAKAR, TINCHOR, KOMBOLCHOR,BISCUITCHORS.
as for commending CG....has he done anything worth commending other than arresting innocent AL leaders with bnp corrupts.
How come no Jamaat big wigs have been arrested? Why arent crminal or corruption charges levied against Syedi/muzahid? Not to mention that Syedi a demented warcriminal kiled over 1000s during our war of liberation. He has stolen around 400 crore taka from the zianagar project.
Tareque has been arrested but where did his money go???????WHy are no actions taken to recover the STOLEN wealth????????????????
I have the following suggestions for Sheikh Hasina which if implemented might strike a chord with the general public and re-establish her credibility in the political arena. She should make three pledges:
1. If there is any criminal allegations against me, I will face in the court and clear myself. ( This is something she has already stated in public).
2. I will establish democracy within the party. To this end, I will relinquish my position as Chairperson and will assume the position of Senior Advisor of the party. Further, I will not seek the position of Prime Minister of the country, if my party gets the majority in Parliament.
3. I belive in democracy. My aim is to establish a true, corruption-free democractic order in Bangladesh. With that in view, I would like to join the people's campaign against the present military-backed government which has usurped the power and rights of people in the disguish of the caretaker government.
If SH can do something as drastic as this, which will show that her rhetoric is not self-serving and indeed a true call of a patriot, she might get a fair hearing from the public again.
Joy,
It was your mother's intransigence and relentless hartals that led the country to this path, so she only has to blame herself. Also, the overwhelming support that the government is receiving from the people should tell you just how disenchanted the country is with both Ms. Zia and your mother.
Considering the violence that AL resorted in its bid for 'free elections', I think the steps taken by this government are rather moderate.
In any case, why am I wasting my time writing this? The overwhelming majority of the comments here are positive you chances are that this comment will get deleted anyway.
Good luck, I actually like the fact that you didn't take Tarique's path and involve yourself in politics, and I admire you as a person. You should advise your mother to quit politics as well.
Joy Bhai
Don't Worry.
The ban will make Sheikh Hasina more popular. This time if the govt. brings about any corruption charges against your mother, it will not be believable to the people of Bangladesh.
What you need is to tell your mother to stay calm and not to be too talkative in this situation.
Plese advise her not to make too much comments about any leader of the party despite differences of opinion. This kind of initiative of the government to create differences in the party should be faced with patience.
Please avvise your mother to keep her lip tight on many issues. Try to convince US govt. about the present situation in the country.
We know that Sheikh Hasina is the only hope of the Democracy lovers of Bangladesh. So she should be more diplomatic rather than talkative. Please tell her to be calm.
Thank you.

Dear Jai Mama,
Leader Sheikh Hasina, Apa was the most successful Head of State in the history of Bangladesh, history will say so. Few successes as:1) No raise on in food and grocery prices in the whole tenure, 2) Successful tackle of longest run Flood, 3) Old people's pension, 4) Better law and order situation most of the time than any other time,5)National respect to the freedom fighters, 6)30 years water sharing treaty with India, 7)Peace treaty with the tribal community of in the southern part of the country and so many.
I strongly believe that country will stand back.
BNP destroyed the political honesty of the country; Tarek Zia became billionare from broken suitcase and teared vas/gengi, Motiur Rahman nizami has more than 100 minibus in the country, all he made in the BNP lead Govt. period; the present CG is not seeing the anything against Jamat leaders. If they are honest, they should be honestly honest. They mightl be honest but not honestly honest. There might be problem in democracy, but that must be corrected democratically with concencious. But what they (CG) are doing now do punish the criminals, along with some of them punishing the patriotic leaders those who really love the country and wanted to bring the country in a high up honourable position.
Jai Mama, try to create International pressure to defy the illegal ban by Caretaker Govt.of Bangladesh, as you are living in the most powerful country of the world. But it was a great blunder by the leader Hasina Apa to leave the country and the party workers in such a breathless condition in the country.
Keep faith in Allah. Offcourse truth will come out of the bad time.
Dr Joseph

Sajeeb, I believe Sk Hasina should not be barred to enter Bangladesh. She should be allowed to enter and face whatever charges against her. But at the same time I don’t want to see her as a PM again. I will vote for AL if she doesn’t lead AL directly. She can remain as an observer or an adviser of party. It may look unfair, but even I am an AL supporter, I want to see change in leadership. Not just because she lead AL for long time. But because she doesn’t have that much capability to lead AL and Bangladesh. Unfortunately she doesn’t bear the minimum quality, personality of of Bangabondhu. Except blood and face, she doesn’t have any other quality of your grandfather. I feel that she has only vital role in the party, the symbol of unity. She keep united AL till now. We are grateful for that. For the unity of party, she can lead it from house.
This government was mainly against BNP, it didn’t hurt AL at first. Ii would not hurt AL or Sk Hasina if she doesn’t start talking against government in the foreign media without any reason. Not only government, we the people also feel annoyed by those interviews. This is one of her old bad habit to talk in foreign media against Bangladesh. She should remember foreign countries are not our boss. We may seek their help if we are in trouble. But nothing should be done that demolish our pride to the foreign nations. It’s a shame for us when foreign media write ‘bickering begums’ when they mention about Sk Hasina and Khaleda Zia.
I am not sure what this government will do in future. Their success and failure depends on their activities and performance. But I appreciate this government for few reasons.
1. They saved us from a destructive situation and another election mockery
2. For the first time a non-AL government recognized Sk Mujib as a father of nation!
3. For the first time a non-AL government trying to bring the Razakars for justice
To be honest, I vote for AL just for the above 2,3 purpose. Current government fullfil my two desire. So, I have no hurry to send AL to power at this moment. I can wait few hour more until there is a constructive change in AL with young, qualified, literate and clean leaders take charge. I believe your mother should not have any problem if alternate people lead the party and she guides from behind. I believe your mother is not illiterate like Khalada Zia not to understand what is good for country. I believe everybody realize that familycracy doesn’t bring honor any country. I hope your mother will speak less and think more. So that her name can be removed from the list of ‘bickering begums’. This is disgusting to see such remarks about our leader.
Finally, I am proud of you when you become one of young global leader. I feel proud when Sk Mujib become top of the greatest Banglalee for all the time!
But I say sorry to Hasina apa…..I have nothing to proud of you! Forgive me apa, but I said what I felt truth! Not only me, I know many constructive well wisher of AL feel the same as mine! Stay safe!

Sheikh Hasia should fly to Delhi and then to Kolkata, from where she should travel to a transit point, and if the government does not let her in the country, she should go on a hunger strike at the border post.
It will not only create tremendous pressure on the government due to the international coverage this will have, but it will also encourage and inspire the party workers.
Myth:“I am the daughter of the father of the nation. I should be allowed back into my country”
Fact: It is about time that Mrs. Sheikh Hasina Wajed stopped using her father’s name for anything. The only reason I support her right to return is because she is a citizen of Bangladesh. We all know who your father was, we respect him and pray for his departed soul. What have you done to deserve our respect? Besides, is being a citizen of our country not privilege enough?
Source:http://dhakashohor.blogspot.com/
NICELY placed.
So pls request Sh. Hasina to stop speaking on the Quotation of Bongo bondhu.
SK was not an outstanding PM or leader that bangladesh will miss. The reason she wants to go back is that she wants a transition of AL leadership from her to her son. She does not care about Bangladesh.

CTG Adviser Mainul Hosein clearly indicates if chief of main political party remove, they will allow indoor politics. How an adviser of a neutral care taker government can utter such things. It is fundamental rights of the political workers/public to chose or removes their leader. Last few occasions he is talking like a dictator.
Being in charge of Public Works Ministry, he demolished illegal part of the structure. We saw top floor of a heart hospital at Rokeya Sarani demolished without any notice. But interestingly, if anyone can check a 15 storied new building on a 20 feet wide road behind Kakrail Petrol Pump developed by Musafir Properties. As we know legally it is impossible to build a 15 storied building, under new or old building construction law. Mr. Moinul Hosein is the owner of Musafir Properties.
I have a humble request to advisers of CTG. Please disclose your wealth statement like Hasan Mashud Chowdhury of ACC. If you do not have the courage to disclose your wealth, please don't try to humiliate politician as corrupt unless he/she prove guilty by the court.
I will be happy if they give a statement like” they themselves, their family member or their related business entity did not buy any car imported through MP quota." I know they never disclose their wealth statement or disclosure regarding purchase of MP quota car.

Mr. Joy,
In your blog comment most of people talking about CG. And they are criticizing them. Yeah it is very easy to comment about someone. But my question is why we need a caretaker govt. in our country? We can not trust our politicians. In fact the political parties do not trust each other.
From the beginning what we have seen in our country? We have never seen our political parties doing something together for our country. In our life I have never ever seen them agreed in a same thing.
I do not know who is guilty and who is not ... but what ever happened and is happening now is not good for us. And we need a new leadership in our country...
Definitely what ever is happening with your mother is not fair for her but please do not explain us about you and your family’s financial condition. We all respect shekh hasina, inshallah every thing will be fine with her.
I agree with some other reader comments about using sentence "daughter of the father of the nation". It's sometimes sound annoying and nonrelevant. No one ask SH to show her identity and everybody know who is she. We have all due respect to Bangabandhu but to recite his name in every occasion is not appropriate. SH should speak less and avoid unrelevant comments and criticism. Despite all this trouble we have our support to her and AL.
I agreed with you and your word which you have written.......
With regards/

Nice Proposal from Shourav:
'''''Sheikh Hasia should fly to Delhi and then to Kolkata, from where she should travel to a transit point, and if the government does not let her in the country, she should go on a hunger strike at the border post.
It will not only create tremendous pressure on the government due to the international coverage this will have, but it will also encourage and inspire the party workers.'''''
So pls consult the proposal with her. I think if she would able to do this step, she will be the most popular in BD. Not only this, a lot BD people will welcome her in the transit point.
How CTG will face it?
if Sheikh Hasina is removed from the scene the ZAROZ JAMAATI RAJAKARS would capture power through ARMY( heavily politicized with illegitimate offsprings of the the forbidden Jamaati warcriminals).
Bangladesh would be renamed as East Pakistan again. Militants would be pushed into india through both ends to carry out bomb blasts. Pakistan would excel by putting the blame on BD and creating unrest in India.
Rajakars and their offsprings would become the PM and President of Bangladesh and the Muktis would be left to die on streets.
NOTE: _ Such a scenario is only possible in dreams. The Zaroz jamatis would be hanged in scaffold yards and all rajakars would be wiped out from the faces of bangladesh. the name Bangladesh cannot be erased from the world map. Hence Sheikh Hasina cannot be erased from the political scenario since both are interlinked.
THe false cases have made AL and Sheikh Hasina even more popular than recent times. ON the other hand such dreadful measures have exposed Mainul Hossain......a very honest man!!!!!! who owns a 15 storeyed building.
I have read a bogus news in
http://www.amadershomoy.com/all.php?id=12947&sys=1 .
It said that the daily rent of the house 20 Porchester Palace in which Rehana lives is £330. Its totally impossible. We live in London, We know the living cost well. It may be weekly. So pls send a letter to The Daily Amader Somoy to protest the news.
The rental status may be seen in the below link:
http://www.hotproperty.co.uk/renting/property_search/postcode/w2+.htm?Beds=3&PriceHigh=1000&PriceLow=340
What a journalism it is!
amadershomoy is owned by Isqandar and other national looters. so i am not amazed by the news.
Tareque babu alone stole over 25 billion dollar worth taka only through syndicates let alone other methods of illicit income. Khaleda and her party leaders stole 36 billion dollar worth taka only through syndicates.....so their NEWSPAPERS would all to smear the good image of AL and proliberation forces.
I'm 100% agree with Sushanta's last comment, please do the needful.
Can any one give me email addresses of State Department of US, UN's Secretary General, US Foreign Secretary Rice's and others whom we can email for giving pressure on CTG so Hasina can return back her home?
OH, AT LAST THERE IS A GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE OF BANGLADESH. BANGLADESH GOVERNMENT LIFTS BAN ON SHEIK HASINA, OUR BELOVED LEADER. IT IS REALLY THE VICTORY OF PEOPLE OF BANGLADESH ALL AROUND THE WORLD. THUS, CELEBRATE AND SEE THIS WEBSITE:

APARAJITA
Congratulations Joy! Govt. has lifted ban on your mother's homecoming!
We did it, we did it!!!!
Congratulations to everyone. This is time for unity.
I wrote a story which I read in internet. The story is about two Bangladeshi who were always jealous of each other. A foreign national visiting this country heard a lot about them and wanted to test it. So one day he approached one of the two and said, I am going to give you something but with a condition. What ever I give you, I will give exactly double to the other person sitting beside you. So tell me what you want from me. The person posed for a while, thought a bit and replied, take out one of my eyes.
I think Leaders of both major political parties now should understand they need to solve the entire problem through dialogue. At the same time they need to identify the conspirators within the party.
For example, if we look at the incident of October 28, 2006, where Sheikh Hasina is the prime accused as per charge sheet of the police. And surprisingly name of Abdur Razzak and Tofayel Ahmed dropped from the charge sheet. The then State Minister for Home Lutfuzzaman Babar, IGP Anwarul Iqbal, DMP Commissioner Mizanur Rahman ensured that there will be no police at Paltan Crossing. Fight between Jamat and AL continued from 10 am till 6 pm, but police was silent in that area. Same time, we saw police is in action at Paltan Maidan. If police was active in Paltan crossing 6 live may be saved. AL supporter may blame Jamat and Jamat supporter may blame AL, but this is the time to find the real culprits.
I am surprised to know from internet that how Mr. Babar is connected with a Jewish activist. I think if people of Bangladesh know it, Mr. Babar will fall in a deep problem.

Now Sheikh Hasina can go back to Bangladesh and face the charges against her.
Take a bow those who fought for this round of the battle with the negative junta within the highly honorable Bangladesh Armed Forces.
Truth always triumphs over evil. No matter who instigates it.
Joy Bangla!
shoibal ,
oct 28 incident was solely instigated by Jamaat. their supporters attacked the AL rally by killing monir hossain on spot.AL patriots retaliated by killing 6 shibir activists with brickbats.
You have seen the video where jamaatis were chanting " brishtir moto guli kor...amra morle gazi bacchle shohid"
There is no truce with the JAMAATI ZAROZ rajakars. Oct 28 was our biggest victory after 1971.
26000 al leaders and workers were killed during the DARK regime of BNP-JAMAAT . 40000 hindu al supporters were raped.
THERE IS NO CULPRIT other than THE RAJAKARS. Sheikh hasina cannot resurrect those 26k al workers ...neither could she restore dignity to those 40k women.
THERE IS NO UNITY and NO TRUCE WITH THE RAJAKARS.
BNP is now extinct .It is a party of KOMBOLCHOR,TINCHOR,BISCUITCHOR,RELIEFCHOR and RAJAKAR.
AL can infact sit in a dialogue with BNP provided the BNP men alongside tareque babu and khaleda repay the 36 billion dollar worth taka stolen during the DARK REGIME.
LOOTERS respite lie not in dialogues but in punitive measures taken by law.
the names of TOFAIL,RAZZAQUE and SHURANJIT were removed as directed by BNP in order to create a tension within AL.........which has been foiled if you are unaware.
People welcomed CGs decision to send HUGELY CORRUPTED khaleda and her family to SA. Everybody applauded the arrest of world's biggest corruptor TAREQUE.
Contrary to that....false cases against Hasina Apa dwindled CG's credibility to 0. You can easily see her popularity now which has increased 10 folds in recent times.
the oct 28 mass upsurge saw police fighting alongside ZAROZ jamaatis .See the video before making any comment. The causalties happened cause some 100 jamatis were fighting against a million angry AL patriots(who became angry after the killing of MONIR HOSSAIN
as for your inquiry about Jewish connections.....How come ZAROZ jamaatis travel all around the world with heavy beards even during this time of turbulation????
How come they never encounter problem related to visas???????
there are 43 different sects in ISLAM????some of these groups are financed directly by ********** to distort Islam and create a SHITE-SUNNI conflict. Jamaat-e-islaami is also one of that group. NOT TO MENTION some of their leaders have travelled to western countries as international HONOURABLE!!!!! guests.

Congratulations to Hasina Apa by the way who has proved herself to be more powerful/influential than Benazir and others.
Truely AL is oncourse for a massive victory in the upcoming elections. Best of luck to AL ,Sheikh Hasina, amu, tofaail, razzaque, suranjit and all the AL leaders and workers and condolences to the berieved family members of the martyrs of the DARK REGIME.
You should be happy that people of Bangladesh have given a new life to Shaikh Hasina. This her time to prove that she should not nominate those criminals and should immediately suspend their membership from the party. She should not nominate any relative who are incapable of. And she should not promote any realtives as she did promoted Major General Mustafiz. Please, be happy that you are also respected by the people of Bangladesh. This the last chane to do the best.
Sajeeb,
I realize that this is your mother we are talking about. And you sound like a decent guy. But if you truly love Bangladesh, and care about its future, you will have to accept that the Awami League and BNP, particularly under present leadership, can by no means be the answer. Our country has been rotting for the last 15 years because of the childish bickering and politics of the two parties. And yes, this has been exacerbated by the behavior of both Hasina and Khaleda. They need to step aside and give the country a fresh start. I agree that the CG should not strong-arm them out. But I also believe that there are many legitimate reasons (and charges) that can be used against them to legitimately remove them from politics. It's time they put their pride aside and faded away. They are NOT heroes of our country. They are NOT saviours. They are BOTH squarely to blame for today's troubles. It's time to accept the truth and let our country live once again.
Dear Friends,
I was attending a conference outside UK and just back yesterday. I met some dignitaries there who also expressed their concern and grievance on the embargo on Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I congratulate you all for this victory.
1. It is Sheikh Hasina whose very bold and outspoken stance this time has saved democracy from a big conspiracy.
2. Moinul Hossain and his associates and the members of the so called One/Eleven Group acted in a wrong time and wrong place. They missed the era of Kissinger and the cold war period.
3. In this conspiracy against both Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia a big section of BNP leaders (under the leadership of Mannan Bhuiyan) were involved. You have seen that all the corrupt former ministers and MPs (Lutfuzzaman Babor and others) were regularly meeting at Mannan Bhuiyan’s residence and government didn’t arrest any one of them. They were involved in the creation of a new party at the patronisation of the so called One/Eleven Group.
4. The Moinul Hossain and associates really underestimated the strength of Sheikh Hasina. They couldn’t measure the national and international support for Sheikh Hasina. At least Moinul Hossain should recollect the history that back in 1969 the then veteran British lawyer Thomas William went to Dhaka to fight for Bangabandhu in the Agartala Conspiracy case. At the moment there are a good number of MPs and politicians in the UK who are ready to fight for Sheikh Hasina. And the people in Bangladesh will not accept any conspiracy against her.
5. And this time Khaleda Zia has been saved for the sake of Sheikh Hasina whose going to exile was imminent. It is unfortunate that no BNP leaders except Hannan Shah (even at the eleventh hour) opened their mouth against the govt initiative to send her to exile.
6. On the issue of “daughter of the Father of the Nation” I would say that at some crucial point of your life you have to asset who you are. I never heard Sheikh Hasina uttering like this before. The time demanded her to assert like this. And I think she is perfectly alright to assert like this in such a crucial time.
7. I believe if we all vigilant against all the conspiracies we will be able to restore our democracy very soon inshallah.
Thank you all,

So BA did a wrong by not allowing SK HASINA to travel to BD.

Dear Morshed
Our goal is same – we want to see AL in power. But our way of thinking may be different. Under the present global scenario you have to fight with cautiously. If you look at our last victory, where CTG compelled to withdraw the press note, is only became possible just we fight with our intellects not by killing in Dhaka Street.
“oct 28 incident was solely instigated by Jamaat. Their supporters attacked the AL rally by killing monir hossain on spot. AL patriots retaliated by killing 6 shibir activists with brickbats”
Al retaliated after Jamat attacked – there is no doubt about it. But, do u think that incident increase any vote for AL? In my view that incident damage the image of AL. Considering 40% Al support and 3% Jamat support. If Jamat and AL looses 10% support each for that incident, it means Jamat looses 0.3% and AL looses 4%. BNP looses nothing out of that incident. So, BNP-Jamat total looses 0.3% vote only, where AL looses 4%. I think that was a pre planned incident to damage the image of AL. Don’t you think that Police play a significant role?
“AL can infact sit in a dialogue with BNP provided the BNP men alongside tareque babu and khaleda repay the 36 billion dollar worth taka stolen during the DARK REGIME.”
There is no doubt about huge corruption in last 5 years. Please don’t misguide our leaders. Stating the figure 36 billion may become counter productive. Do you calculate how much money it is in BDT? Tk. 252,000 crore. Do you have any idea what is the total budget of BD? By putting a false figure it may jeopardize the allegations.
If you review the activities of last few weeks of CTG, it’s clear that they have also a plan to crackdown AL. Please be tolerant at this point of time, it is not October 2006. AL may need other political parties to achieve a common goal. I have no doubt if there is an Election now, AL will win with an over whelming majority. But, I don’t know what happened if election will be delayed for a couple of years.
Shoibal Chowdhury
shoibal,
the GDP of bangladesh is 279 billion dollars which according to analysts is fraction of total GDP.the discrepancies occur due to corruption and underreporting.
Look BNP is totally erased from people's memory. they are tinchor, kombolchor, biscuitchor, mohadurnitibaz and reliefchor.
dont also forget that the prices of essentials during the DARK regime was maouvered solely by the Tareque sysndicate. If you add up the deflated misappropriated value of essentials you end up wayyyyyy over 100 billion over a 5 year range.
Tareque Babu invested 300 million dollars in Malaysia which was confiscated by the Malaysian Govet. He owns a company in Vietnam which is worth around 3 billion dollars.
He also has shares in NYSX worth billions and was awarded gold medal by the authorities.
BNP -JAMAATs allies are scaffold yards where they would be hanged for misdeeds
BNP is extinct now totally!!!!!!!
AL doesnt need anyone now. BNP would gain if it can forge an alliance with AL which wont happen.
It was FORBES that reported Tareque to be one of the 20th billionaires in the world. Theyu also published some official counts which saw Tareque's property standing at 23 billion.
STOP THIS TRASH TALK!!!!!!!
No one can resurrect those 26 k al workers and leaders. Allah himself cannot restore the dignity of those 40k hindu women.
BNP is extinct. Tareque would be hanged. There isa no truce and no unity with rajakars and tinchors.
BNP's common goal is to earase the name Bangladesh from world map and revert back to East Pakistan.
Al's goal is to make Bangladesh flourish in all fields and be one of the most influential countries in the world.
Dont worry.....in the future AL would win atleast 250 seats (even if the elections are held after 2 years).
Video documentaries cannot be forgotten or hidden.....:).
AL has 80% of people's support NOW if you are unaware.BNP-JAMAAT are totally extinct
Dear Morshed
I think we all must acknowledge that we are discussing in BLOG of our future leader. Talking far from reality may damage the image not only us also the image of JOY. You have every right to differ.
“Tareque Babu invested 300 million dollars in Malaysia which was confiscated by the Malaysian Govet. He owns a company in Vietnam which is worth around 3 billion dollars.
He also has shares in NYSX worth billions and was awarded gold medal by the authorities.”
Do you have any evidence? Please provide us a copy and also send copy to anti corruption commission. We need not to utter any cheap word; they did enough offense for which the may confined hundreds of years in jail.
”Allah himself cannot restore the dignity of those 40k hindu women.” Don’t try to hurt anyone’s religious feelings by putting word such “Allah himself”. No religion allowed rape.
”Dont worry.....in the future AL would win atleast 250 seats ……….. AL has 80% of people's support NOW”, thank for yours optimistic view.
Don’t underestimate your opponent; they also try to prove your allegations against them are false. In politics if you brought any allegation and you do not have any prove, then you will be in a big image crisis.
Don’t try to put false figures; you need not to do it. A real single rape case is enough to give him a capital punishment. A crime is always a crime, whether it is against a muslim or hindu AL worker. The punishment is same whether anyone rapes a muslim or hindu girl/woman. By putting the word ‘hindu’, you tried to divide the society on religious ground. AL will never benefited the issues is consider on religious ground. AL should fight for the civil rights of the society; if really want to keep support of 80%. Do you have any idea how many muslim supporter of AL stayed out of home in last 5 years?
Shoibal Chowdhury
shoibal,
what opponents????
tinchors are completely erased from people's memory.
we clearly saw those tin sheets being plucked out from the houses of bnp-zaroz rajakars. The party offices were then named as Young muslim friends(kutta muslim jamaat actually).
send a copy to ACC?????
what for ????
ACC is now run by Pakistan backed militants and army personnels.
We havent forgotten about the confiscation of 300 million dollars by Malaysian Govt. We have all seen the SHOPPING MALL worth 600 million in Canberra by Tareque Babu. BNP is finished .so are the jamaaties. We will see them in scaffold prior to meeting Allah. Prothom-alo/jugantor/janakantha all published vivid reports with pictures on corruption and illegal acquiring of land by Rajakar-jamaat etc.
http://express-press-release.com/24/Corrupt%20millionaire%20ministers%20in%20Bangladesh.php
i have provided some info on the atrocities which i have witnessed in the previous threads .
plus i would also be posting the videos released by AL on youtube in the coming months. Our tasks are to seek avenge of the 26 k al workers killed during the ZAROZ DARK RREGIME and obliterate the culprits of the rape incidents through international forces.
dont worry i am gonna post my own personal documentary which i made during 2002 and post it in youtube as well. I would perhaps send official copies to presidents of US and UK when time comes.
BNP and JAMAAT are both extinct!!

Dear Joy,
Your mother is a good person, actually she has a heart of gold, there in lies the problem, she has let all the evil people that keep her company, and I am sure you know and can identifies the ones I am speaking about, to manipulate her. They have brought her and the party to ill repute. My advive Joy to you and to your mother, is get rid off the baggage, and do it openley, let the people know. Your Grandfather had a heart of gold, he too let himself be manipulated, learn from history.
It is nice to know that you want the better for the country through your mother and I respect your view as a son of a political leader. However having said this can I bring you to some reality of what has been happening under the AL and BNP, Bangladesh was seen as a most corrupt country in the world. Being normal citizen of Bangladesh I have see anarchy, blood shade, and hartal one after another hence the country has been going backward not forward, rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. To cut the story shot for Bangladesh to become prosperous and positively move forward, it needs drastic changes and we need to move a way from this two leadership. We need better leadership and Dash loving people to run the country. At the moment we don’t have that sad to say. I am in full support of the current Military backed government which saved the country from destruction and killings on the street. And By the way Majority of the people in UK (Bangladesh) feels the same way as I do so it’s a popular opinion, and same in Bangladesh whom supports the current government. I am not sure if have seen the current news, EU have given full support for the Military backed government and what it’s trying to do. This reform is needed and changes must be made.
Kind Regards
Overview of Trust Bank, from their website. This should clear up some misconceptions unless you are blind!!!
The following was copied verbatim from their website:
http://www.trustbankbd.com/glance.htm
The Trust Bank Ltd. is a private, commercial, scheduled Bank, which obtained license from Bangladesh Bank on July 15, 1999. Presently Army Welfare Trust is the major shareholder. The authorized capital of the Bank is Taka two thousand million and paid-up capital of Taka five hundred million. Public shares are expected to be floated in the near future. The Bank was formally inaugurated and listed as a scheduled Bank on November 1999.
The idea of setting up a Bank by Bangladesh Army was first conceived in 1987 and on November 29, 1999 the first branch of the Trust Bank Ltd came into operation
Composition of the Board of TBL consists of Ex-officio Directors of in-service senior Army personnel, with the Chief of Army Staff as its Chairman and the Adjutant General as its Vice-Chairman.
Once again, the hypocrisy of those blindly supporting the Caretaker Government is astounding! If you take the moral high ground and claim to clean up corruption, then you cannot have any taint of corruption in your record. Otherwise, it's just opportunism to grab power. That is what I have a problem with.
I have nothing against our Army. I believe our troops today are very professional for the most part. In fact, I'm willing to bet most of our troops do not support this takeover. However, for now they are simply following orders. I would urge them to take a good look at the actions of their superiors. An immoral and illegal order cannot be obeyed.
YOU should go to Bangladesh.
